I have tied leeches with rabbit zonker/rabbit crosscut without the strip and dubbing with maribou.I have heard different sides for each technique and wondered what your opinion is.

Hi Dan, sorry for taking so long getting back to you. I am still getting used to how this blog works, I think I have it figured out now.
As for your question I tie my leech patterns out of a number of materials including fur and marabou. I like booth. Squirrel Zonker strips also make great leeches too. Rabbit is probably more durable than marabou.
All these materials work it just comes down to personal preference and what you have confidence in. My leeches tend to be simple, such as a marabou tail, Crystal Chenille body and beadhead. I now tie a lot of balanced leeches using up eye jig hooks such as the Mustad Ultra Point 32833BLN in sizes #10 and #8.
I hope this helps if you have any further questions please let me know.
Cheers,
Phil

Hi Robert, thanks for taking the time to place your comment.
As for the Learning With the Pros seminars they are promoted through the magazine, at trade shows such as the BC Boat and Sportsman’s show at Tradex in March of each year. I also promote them through my website on my Calendar and What’s New sections.
If you need anything else please let me know.
Thanks,
Phil
