The Government of Canada is investing approximately $106 million over the next three years in upgrading and maintaining Small Craft Harbours across Canada. Mission Harbour will be receiving some of those funds to reconstruct flotation chambers.

The Mission Harbour is home to a number of sport fishing charters on the Fraser River, with opportunities to fish seasonally for salmon and year-round for sturgeon. A harbour with lots of potential, hopefully future funding will go towards developing a dock for fishing and further development of infrastructure in the area.

The Government of Canada undertakes harbour improvement projects in cooperation with the local harbour authorities that manage and operate facilities for local users.
